Farmington Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Drive

Date: 11/6/2013

Each year, the Farmington Chamber raises funds for scholarships for deserving graduates of Farmington High School (FHS). Contributors have included Farmington Bank, Trumpf, The Walker Group and West Farms Mall in addition to the Chamber. The Chamber contributes $3,500 to this fund. This year, with your help, our goal is to dramatically increase participation in this program and offer more scholarships than in the past. We believe it is important in these economically challenging times for the business community to support students seeking the higher education that is critical to their obtaining gainful employment and becoming contributing members of society.

Depending on the amount raised, both $500 and $1,000 scholarships are awarded. We attempt to balance benefiting as many students as possible while at the same time providing an amount that will truly make a difference in the students’ lives. We also offer two $1,500 scholarships to the winners of our annual Business Plan competition, which is judged by Farmington Chamber board members. This year, the Farmington High School business program capstone students will all be producing business plans, and accordingly, we would like to expand the number of these scholarships that we offer.

We would very much appreciate your making a contribution to this program this year in one of the following levels:

Platinum Sponsor:   $1,000

Gold Sponsor:         $500

Silver Sponsor:         $250

Contributing businesses will receive recognition at their level of sponsorship on the Chamber website through June 2014, and additionally in the program booklet at the Farmington Chamber Annual Dinner and at the Farmington High School Awards Assembly. We will also provide a certificate to recognize your contribution.

Please send your check, indicating it is for Farmington Chamber Scholarships, to: Cindy Scoville, Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce, 200 Main Street, Bristol, CT 06010-8823.
