SPEAKER: William G. Madsen, Attorney at Law
Topic: The Changing Landscape of Employment Law

Mr. Madsen graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where he majored in philosophy and religion. He went on to attend the Yale Divinity School, receiving his Master of Arts in Religion. Mr. Madsen earned his law degree from the Vermont College of Law and practiced law at two large Hartford law firms, defending employers in labor and employment litigation. In 1997, Mr. Madsen started his own firm and in 2000, Madsen, Prestley & Parenteau, LLC formed a partnership. The firm's practice centers on representing individuals with respect to a broad array of employment-related claims, including wrongful discharge, whistle blower retaliation, family and medical leave, disability accommodation, freedom of speech, wage and hour, breach of contract, violation of public policy and all forms of discrimination as well as class action litigation.

Mr. Madsen has been recognized as a "Super Lawyer" and included in "Best Lawyer" every year since 2007. He has also written and lectured extensively regarding employment law related issues, ranging from non-competition agreements to disability discrimination to wrongful discharge.
